The 2025 K4DN Symposium will be held at Academic Cultural Complex (E9) 5F Chung Kunmo Conference Hall, John Hannah Hall, KAIST, located in Daejeon, South Korea. Below are some local transportation options to get to the venue from key points in Daejeon, including taxis, subway, and buses.
Option A: Taxi (Recommended)
The most convenient and recommended option is to take a taxi directly to the Academic Cultural Complex (E9) 5F Chung Kunmo Conference Hall, John Hannah Hall at KAIST.
- Duration: Approximately 20 minutes from Daejeon Station or nearby areas.
- Estimated Fare: ₩15,000 - ₩20,000, depending on the traffic conditions.
- Taxi Tip: It is recommended to show the taxi driver the KAIST address or name of the building (Academic Cultural Complex (E9) 5F Chung Kunmo Conference Hall, John Hannah Hall) if they are not familiar with the location.
Option B: Subway + Bus
If you prefer using public transportation, here’s how to get to KAIST from Daejeon Station using subway and bus:
- Step 1: Take Subway Line 1 at Daejeon Station toward the Banseok direction.
- Step 2: Get off at Wolpyeong(KAIST) Station (월평역) (~20 min).
- Step 3: From Wolpyeong(KAIST) Station, walk to the KAIST Main Gate (~30 min).
Duration: This option will take about 30–40 minutes depending on transfer times and traffic conditions.
Traveling to Daejeon, South Korea
For participants traveling to the 2025 K4DN Symposium at Kl Bldg Fusion Hall, KAIST, Daejeon, South Korea, we have provided essential travel information to ensure a smooth and convenient journey. Below are the details about how to get to the venue and recommendations for travel.
The nearest international airport to KAIST is Incheon International Airport (ICN), located about 2 hours from Daejeon by car.
Gimpo International Airport (GMP) is another option for domestic flights, with a shorter travel time to Daejeon (around 1.5 hours).
There are several convenient transfer options from the airports to Daejeon.
- By Taxi: Taxis are available at both Incheon and Gimpo Airports. The estimated fare to Daejeon is approximately ₩100,000 - ₩120,000 (from Incheon) and ₩80,000 - ₩100,000 (from Gimpo), depending on traffic conditions.
- By KTX (Korea Train Express): From Incheon International Airport, take the AREX train to Seoul Station, and then transfer to the KTX high-speed train to Daejeon. The total journey time is around 1.5 - 2 hours.
- By Limousine Bus: Limousine buses to Daejeon are available from Incheon and Gimpo Airports. The ride takes about 2.5 - 3 hours.
Daejeon is easily accessible by KTX from Seoul or other major cities in South Korea. The KTX offers a fast and comfortable ride to Daejeon Station (approximately 1 hour 30 minutes from Seoul).
From Daejeon Station, you can take a taxi to the KAIST campus, which takes about 20 minutes.
KAIST is well-served by public transportation, including buses and taxis. The nearest subway station to the venue is Wolpyeong(KAIST) Station, which takes 30min by walking from the event location.
